The Council of Europe must send a clear message – in its Report – that it supports sanctions on Israel if there is no immediate ceasefire in Gaza, Alexis Tsipras stated at the Political Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly being held in Oslo.

He stressed that words are not enough, a European Council meeting on Gaza must be held immediately and substantial pressure must be applied to Israel to end the operations, while pressure must be applied in parallel, for the immediate return of hostages from Hamas. The double standards applied by Europe in Gaza undermine the meaning of European values on a daily basis.
